Slow. That’s the first word that comes to my mind when I think of Laos. Slow. Languid. Time standing still. I spent three to four days in Luang Prabang, a tiny town with one main road and a handful of arterial roads. To revive myself and make time move faster I rented a bicycle and rode 60 kms (in total) to visit Kuang Si waterfall. The ride was picturesque, filled with winding roads and villages, and when I reached, sweaty and exhausted, the bright aquamarine waters of the waterfall greeted me. Divided into mini-cascades, the water seemed clear and as I waded into one of the pools, I felt its delicious coolness.
Kuang Si was certainly worth the ride and definitely a great getaway from idyllic Luang Prabang.
