Another favorite pastime here. Drinking tea. And I don’t mean the milky, sugary tea that we Indians are used to. This is green, flowery tea. Yi bei cha (one glass of tea) costs 10 RMB (Rs 50 $1.5). Half the price of a coffee I pay in a Barista or Coffee Day back home. Continuously replenished with hot water (kept in the red flask in the background) you can spend hours in a teahouse, drinking delicately flavored tea while chatting, reading or knitting (another favorite of women here. I will post a photo here as soon as I can click one).

  1. Nice picture! I love Chinese tea – the regular green tea, as well as barley tea and jasmine tea. I never thought that the definition of tea could be expanded to include all these 🙂
