Italy. My dream place. It was a trip to remember. Soaking in sunshine, drinking wine, and walking along cobblestone streets submerged in history was an otherworldly experience.

I felt transported to a different world. A world of kings and emperors, slaves and plebeians, and power and glory. Among the many squares that I came across, the Piazza del Popolo or the People’s Square interested me in particular. This was the very first view of Rome for the weary travelling coming from faraway lands. It was also the place where executions took place till as recent as the 19th century. At it’s center towers a magnificent Egyptian obelisk, brought from Egypt on the orders of King Augustus. Viewing it from atop the Pincian Hill in the setting sun, I felt like the traveller coming from a faraway land, seeing Rome in all its glory.
