South Korea was a special trip. Not just because it was to celebrate me turning 30 but also because I got to visit the North Korean border…
North Korea has always been a fascination for me, with its cloak of secrecy and deceptive appearances. So taking the DeMilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour was one of the highlights of the trip. That small patch of pebbles in the picture? Walk across and you are officially in North Korea. Exciting isn’t it?!The soldiers standing there are immovable. They show no expression and they don’t even blink. The building behind is in North Korea and our guide was informing us that right at that minute we might be being watched through binoculars from one of the windows. Creepy. But that’s how North Korea is. In everything.
