Dublin Loves Literature

Dublin is the city of many literary greats. James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, Oscar Wilde, Patrick Kavanagh, and Samuel Beckett to name a few. And the City Council has ensured that evidence of their lives and works can be found in forms varying from the quirky to the quaint across Dublin. This little bronze plaque embossed with an evocative quote from Joyce’s Ulysses can be found embedded into the pavement of O’Connell bridge, which I had crossed many a time without noticing it. I know now that it’s part of the Joyce trail, a Ulysses-themed walking route that has 14 similar plaques. Can’t wait to discover the others.
